It’s totally normal to fear the unknown and the exam could be the unknown! Trying out past/practice papers or even just questions under timed conditions can help you get familiar with the format and build your confidence.

 

2. Get a good night’s sleep before the exam. 😴

Pulling all-nighter’s might feel like the only way, but how productive can you really be after 18 hours of study? Inadequate rest can even exacerbate your nerves!

 3.  Focus on calm breathing and positive thoughts. 💭

Deep breathing can slow down a beating heart or racing mind, so practice these techniques at home. Even just concentrating on your breathing and thinking can biometrically alter those anxious feelings!

 

 4.  Be positive! 💖

Focus on what you do understand, what you have prepared and what you can do.

 

 5. Just start! ✒

A blank page or answer section can maximise your anxiety so as soon as you’ve read the directions, dive into a plan, outline or idea to get you started. It’s worth finding questions you can ace to build your confidence and momentum before you start answering those that’ll take more thought. You can always go back and change things later if you need to.
